太極拳推手技藝依循易經陰陽變化的哲理,習者雙方循環往復,相互黏貼、探聽、揣摩彼此的動向,在不知不覺中提升了,太極拳「以柔克剛」技藝,所必須具備的聽勁與懂勁。

所謂的陰陽是上與下、前與後、左與右的對應關係。如太極拳經:上下前後左右皆然,凡此皆是意,不在外面,有上即有下,有前則有後,有左則有右。

上下、前後、左右反覆運動,促進氣血的循環與腦神經系統,啟發身體各部位的機能,是健身養生的最佳途徑之一。

The Wonderful Applications of Tai Chi Push Hands

The technique of Tai Chi push hands follows the philosophical principles of yin and yang from the I Ching. Practitioners engage in a cyclical interaction, sticking, probing, and exploring each other's movements. In this way, they unconsciously enhance the listening and understanding skills essential for mastering the Tai Chi principle of "overcoming the hard with the soft."

Yin and yang refer to the corresponding relationships between the upper and lower, front and back, left and right. As stated in the Tai Chi classics: "Above and below, in front and behind, to the left and to the right, all of these are intentions that are not external. Where there is an upper, there is a lower; where there is a front, there is a back; where there is a left, there is a right."

The repetitive movements of up and down, back and forth, left and right promote the circulation of qi and blood, as well as the brain's nervous system, stimulating the functions of various body parts. This is one of the best ways to maintain health and wellness.
